Minneapolis to test Wireless networks

It seems that Minneapolis is looking to lead (along with a couple other cities) as it explores a city wide wireless internet opportunity. The two firms competing for the bid are Atlanta based Earthlink, and Minnetonka based US Internet Corp.

As an individual that spends a great deal of time on my laptop, having more flexibility to get my internet connection outside of my home or office would be awesome. I personally would like to see the Minnetonka company get the bid...and keep the business local.

UPDATE:
The City of Minneapolis is expected to recommend the Minnetonka company for the proposal. Full Story.
