Fitgers Bockfest

Being a person who Loves to visit Duluth, and who happens to LOVE beer. Thought I would remind folks that the Fitgers Bockfest is coming up the weekend of March 16th-18th. Check out their site for more information.

Thomas' MySpace Editor

Just a quick plug for Thomas' MySpace Editor. For those out there on MySpace looking for a very simple editor. Damn near idiot-proof. This would also work well for those looking to do some simple editing your own page.

To spin this post to the marketing side. What an amazing concept (MySpace) College and Highschool kids are using it to network on a social level. But many movies, and bands, etc... are beginning to create profiles. It's a unique way to get a message out to the masses. And I do mean masses. I think in it's current state, it's an artistically hideous place with most pages having way too many things going at once. Some pages have so much motion, I start to get a head ache! I would also like to have more control over adjusting my personal page (perhaps that will come with further investigation into how much you can adjust pages). Well check it out. Let me know what you think on a personal level, or on a marketing/advertising potential.

Root City Band

Today's post is step away from my typical posts relating to Marketing, Advertising, and Digital Video Production/Delivery.

I wanted to make a quick plug for the Root City Band. These guys ROCK. Mr. Aaaron Heaton, aka Heatbox, went to Park Center with some of my close friends. His beatboxing is crazy. I'll see if I can't get some of his recent work and post it.

In a recent review I found this: The bands blues heartbeat is nicely rounded out by thier timely injections of rock and soul. ~Louis Lenzmeier

Check 'em out. The perform quite a bit around Minneapolis, and even up in Duluth.

And the survey says??

My friend Kate just sent me an invitation to take a survey for a marketing class she's taking. The survey was hosted by SurveyMonkey.com. I thought it was pretty cool, and could see how it could be super useful if you ever need to make a quick survey. Also, there are advanced level features that are available for a small fee, if your survey requires more questions, or more details then what can be obtained by 10 questions or 100 people. If you've had positive results with SurveyMonkey.com, let me know.

The Savvy Technologist

I was fortunate to meet Mr. Wilson several months ago at the TIES convention. Since that time I have subscribed to his podcast. I wanted to make a quick note of his blog, because I think it's filled with a wide range of uses of technology in education. I would recommend his podcast to anyone in education looking for an easy way to stay informed to some of the emerging trends in technology and education.

Digg.com AND ADage.com

As an advertiser I have been a long time subscriber to ADage.com. Who has always done a great job of updating me daily with what's new in the advertising world. But today they had an interesting article on one of my newest places to go for interesting content: Digg.com. Along with Digg.com, Alex and Kevin host an always-funny podcast called Diggnation. I guess I just found it really cool to see Digg start to get the recognition it deserves, and I'm happy to see the advertising world start to look beyond traditional media outlets to advertise and deliver messages.
